More about the artist

Paul d’Amour is a contemporary poet and guitarist who sets to music both his own lyrics and great poems, in the tradition of Verlaine, Prévert, Nerval and Gainsbourg. Largely self-taught, he began singing and composing at a young age before pursuing a solo career launched in the early 2010s and continued through several albums. On stage he favours an intimate and moving format, often joined by a few musicians, where his voice and guitar turn into quiet confidences. His finely crafted songs draw their influences as much from literature as from the great French chanson, from Leonard Cohen to Bashung. At the French Market, he offers a suspended moment, tender and poetic, carried by a voice audiences hold dear.
